Sewing & Technical Finishes

  • 4-layer structure (Recto / Verso):

    Matt-finish fabric (Recto) - Multi-layer technical lining - Matt-finish fabric (Verso).

    Identical appearance on both sides (ideal for room dividers).
  • Acoustic optimization (open bottom):

    The bottom of the curtain is deliberately opened to create decompression air gaps between the layers.
    This technique promotes sound absorption and thermal insulation at the heart of the curtain.
  • Head: neat finish with reinforcing strip.

📏 Size guide & Measurements

⚠ Important : Tolerances and margins

Technical and acoustic fabrics have a natural tolerance of around ±2% on the finished width (due to the weight and tension of the technical fibers).

👉 It's essential to allow for a safety margin of around +5% when ordering.

Ordering a curtain "at the strict minimum" of the opening to be insulated risks resulting in a lack of coverage and reduced soundproofing efficiency.

1. Width of the Curtain pole Track


For optimal sound and thermal insulation, the curtain must extend well beyond the opening.

Allow for the Curtain pole Track 15 to 20 cm beyond each side of the window (and in height).

2. Width for Finishing Eyelets (on Curtain pole)


To achieve a harmonious and attractive pleated effect, we recommend a curtain width equivalent to 1.5 to 2 times the length of the Curtain pole.

  • Example for a 145 cm curtain: Suitable for a Curtain pole 72.5 cm to 95 cm.
  • Example for two 145 cm curtains (total 290 cm): Suitable for a Curtain pole 145 cm to 190 cm.

3. Width for Gathering tape Finishing Gathering tape on Track)


Acoustic tip: To maximize soundproofing performance, we recommend laying the fabric "flat" (with few or no pleats), so as to use the entire surface of the fabric as a barrier.
However, if aesthetics are a priority, you can adjust the cords to obtain up to 40% gathering.

  • Example for a 145 cm curtain: Covers a Track 85 cm (heavily pleated) to 145 cm (flat).
  • Example for two 145 cm curtains: Covers a Track 175 cm to 290 cm.

4. Curtain height

  • Positioning: Attach the Curtain pole Track 15 to 20 cm above the window to limit sound leakage from above.
  • Length: If you want the curtain to touch the floor (for a better seal), add 3 to 5 cm to the measured length to "break" it or compensate for any floor deviations.

By following these recommendations, you can ensure both the aesthetic appeal of your installation and the technical efficiency of the Nokomis solution.
