Yes, but to a degree that needs to be put into perspective. A fabric curtain affects mid- and high-frequency sounds —voices, television, light traffic, and sounds from the patio. It has little effect on low frequencies, which travel through walls and floors.
For the 4-layer system Nokomis, the laboratory measured a maximum sound reduction of 28.2 dB at 5,000 Hz, with an overall index of Rw(C;Ctr) = 14(−1;−3) dB, in accordance with the NBN EN ISO 10140-2:2010 standard.
The result you see in your home depends heavily on the installation: how the curtain covers the opening, the width of the curtain, and how the roller shutter box is finished. A high-performance curtain that is poorly installed will produce a mediocre result.

A curtain sold for around €89 is typically a single- or double-layered blackout fabric weighing 300 to 400 g/m². It provides real visual and thermal comfort, but in most cases , it has not been tested by an accredited laboratory, does not have a test report number, and does not have a fire rating.
A tested " acoustic curtain " is a different product altogether: it features a multilayer structure, high weight per unit area, a standardized testing protocol, and a traceable report. The physics here are straightforward—attenuation depends primarily on mass. A 350 g/m² textile and a 1.35 kg/m² composite cannot produce the same result.

Thermal: Reduces heat transfer near a window. On our models, measurements in accordance with EN 14501 show up to a 44% reduction in heat loss in winter compared to single-pane glass.
Acoustics: Reduces airborne noise. This is the most demanding function—it requires mass, a multilayer structure, and full coverage installation.

Three rules that largely determine the acoustic result.
Width: Measure the Curtain pole or Track, not the window. The curtain should extend well beyond the opening on both sides. Allow for a width of at least 1.5 to 2 times the width of the opening to ensure sufficient drapes.
Height: from the top of the Curtain pole to the floor, hanging as close to the floor as possible. A curtain that ends below the window lets noise in from the bottom.
Roller shutter box: If there is one, the shutter should pass in front of it, not underneath it. This is a major source of sound leakage that is often overlooked.

No installation required. The curtains can be hung on an existing “ Curtain pole ” or “ Track ” rod, with brass grommets or a “ Gathering tape ” finish, depending on the configuration you choose.
Given the weight of a acoustic curtain, the mounting system must be sized accordingly: opt for a sturdy Track or Curtain pole , secured to the wall or ceiling rather than just the door frame. We offer rails designed to handle these loads.

Have it dry-cleaned by a professional. The curtain's multilayer construction and weight make it unsuitable for washing in a household washing machine.
For everyday use, a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment is sufficient for removing dust. Regular care helps maintain the fabric's drape and extends its lifespan.
